Mark Bradbury Set to Return
Mark Bradbury will be back in the BUPA Crusaders line up
this weekend (Saturday 12 February) at the Coventry Sports Centre for the 7.30 pm tip-off
against the Cardiff Clippers in the National Basketball League.
The team's last two losses have come without the services
of Mark Bradbury who has been out with a back injury, but now he will be back to help us
start winning again. We have missed Mark's leadership on the basketball court. Mark not
only set up the plays for us, but he also helps Ben Livingston's development.
Every game that Mark has started for us this season has
been good in a number of ways. The first way he helps is by getting the ball into the
hands of Rick Solvason and Derrick Pope at the right time during the game. Getting the
ball to the right players at the right time is a skill that is hard to teach, but it's a
skill that comes with years of playing and understanding the game, Mark knows the game.
The second way Mark helps us is by causing the other
players to play more relaxed in their roles as they enter the game.
The development of Ben Livingston this season was largely
due to the signing of Mark. Ben learns a lot from watching Mark lead the team, so when I
sub Ben into the game he can bring his gifted ball handing skills and quickness to the
team. The leadership Mark brings is what our team needs more of, and now that Mark is
back, our other players can go back to their own roles and feel better about themselves as
the play.
We are looking forward to another exciting game on
Saturday!
