Hull Icebergs 69

Coventry Crusaders 103

The Crusaders had another great performance against Hull Icebergs on Sunday afternoon, after an uneventful trip up north.

The game was initially off to a slow start, taking the Crusaders several minutes to really start their offensive flow, but after that there was no turning back.

They stepped up their defence and the first and only quarter that Captain and coach Derrick Pope played in, ended 10 – 32 for Coventry.

Crusader Alaster Spiers dominated the game by scoring 32 points and there was ample opportunity to play the bench and give those players a lot of court time.

By half time the Crusaders could have justifiably relaxed and let down their guard.  The young players coming in, however, continued to rack up the points and keep Coventry well ahead of their opponents.

In the end, despite Hulls 69 points, Crusaders had scored 103 giving them their fifth Century of the season.

Their next and final game of the season will be at Coventry Sports Centre on Saturday 27th Mar. at the usual time of 7:30 pm.

Crusaders scorers:

Alaster Spiers 32, Ed Baynes Clarke 17, Larry Graves 14, Matt Collins 14, Craig Robertson 8, Sam Spare 7, Lee Muir 5, Derrick Pope 3, Wesley Hall 3

Icebergs scorers:

Algar 16, Rymer 14, Goodwin 9, Lister 9, Rayder 6, Jamison 4, Shakespeare 4, Smurthwaite 2
