Coventry
Crusaders will be playing at home on Saturday against current league
leaders Worthing Thunder.
Crusaders, who
are still finding their form and struggling to get 10 fit players on
court for any one game, have been showing some great improvement and
have created a lot of excitement in their recent matches.
Worthing will be
a difficult game, but after Crusaders cut their 25-point deficit to
just four last weekend against Reading before eventually losing by
9, the Coventry Sports Centre crowd can hope for another
entertaining match.
On Sunday the
Crusaders will be travelling south to play Solent Stars at the
Mountbatten
Centre, Alexandra Park, in Portsmouth. Solent has enjoyed a recent
run of victories and are finding their form late in the season as
well, so the game should be another very competitive match-up
between the two sides.
Crusaders are
hoping that all their players except injured Marcin Twierdzinski
should be fit to play this weekend. Last weekend new signing Malik
Omar had to sit out due to a sore knee. His height and presence
would have been useful against the height that Reading brought to
Coventry, but it looks like he will be available for this weekend’s
action.
Player/coach Dip
Donaldson relishes the challenge of the weekend.
“After a strong
showing in the second half against Reading (last week), we are
hoping to build on that, boost our confidence, and use it to come
out strong against Worthing.
Crusaders could
be without Roy Owen because of an injury, but Malik Omar should be
back, which would be very helpful.”
This week’s game, which is being sponsored by
Coca-Cola,
will be at the usual time of 7:30. Tickets are £6 Adults and £4
Concessions.
