Coventry have secured the
services of American John Olinger, he joins the Crusaders for the rest
of the season to add much needed strength and depth to the squad.
John hails from Salem,
Oregon where he played three seasons for Willamette University and is
career free throw percentage leader at Willamette.
Whilst at University he was
selected to play for both the 1st and 2nd teams of the All Northwest
Conference. He was also voted team MVP in the 2005 and 2006 seasons.
John has spent the summer
and autumn of 2008 playing and travelling on tour with 'Athletes in
Action'.
Crusaders will be looking
for a repeat of his final season stats when the 6'1" Point Guard,
averaged 18 pts per game with 53% field goal and 47% 3pt success.

His academic achievements
culminated with a BA in Economics from Willamette University in 2005,
and a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) with an emphasis in
Marketing, from Willamette University in 2007.
John's only previous visit to the UK was during 2006 while studying at
the Bordeaux Business School in Bordeaux, France, and so he is
thrilled to be back here in the UK and playing basketball in the EBL.
The Coventry Community will
also benefit from John's skills and knowledge as he joins the Crusader
Foundation Coaching Programme.
John will make his debut
this weekend as
Crusaders face Sheffield Arrows, tip-off is 7.30pm at the Coventry
Sports Centre.
