Leopards roar in Coventry

A spirited fourth quarter fight back from Coventry Crusaders wasn’t enough to stop Roger Payne’s men slip a further two points adrift at the bottom of National League Division One as they went down 73-86 at home to London Leopards on Saturday evening.

The over time result makes next week’s trip to relegation rivals Derby Trailblazers, the team just above them, even more important to the club’s fading ambitions of getting into the play-offs. Crusaders are four points adrift of Trailblazers, and six from the final eighth-placed play-off spot.

Discipline finally proved to be Crusaders’ downfall as they conceded seven pairs of free throws in five minutes of over time to let a game that they spent most of trying to draw level in, slip away.
