Coventry Crusaders
Soar with Royal Air Force Cash Award.
An award from the
RAF Careers Club Development Fund has given Coventry Crusaders Basketball Club a
significant boost towards their youth development programme.
This is the second
year the club has been successful in its application for club development.
Derrick Pope
Crusaders Director of Coaching was delighted by the news of the RAFs continuing
support to the club. He commented
It has given us
a good head start in this seasons under 16 and under 18 programmes. With no club
sponsor this year this money has been an invaluable asset to the continuing of our youth
development teams and we are extremely grateful for the continued support of the RAF
Flying Officer
Gareth Taylor from Coventrys RAF Careers Office attended Crusader Cadets Final home
fixture of 2004 on 18th December at the Coventry Sports Centre.
After the game he
presented the club with the cheque for £300.
The money will be
used to help with Travel costs and for the payment of match officials.
The RAF Careers Club
Development Fund has been set up as part of the Royal Air Forces overall sponsorship of
the National Under-18s.
Under-16 and
Under-14s Basketball Leagues.
Moving into the
fifth year of this sponsorship the Royal Air Force Aims to attract new recruits to one of
the many career opportunities available within the service.
