The first thing that Gaetan Renekouzou did when he arrived in Coventry from France in October 2002, to start his third year as a student at Coventry University was to look up the local basketball team.

Having played for B.S.T in the French National League for the past three seasons, this friendly and very likeable Frenchman was keen to continue his basketball career.

Gaetan chose Coventry to continue his studies having completed the first two years of his degree in Engineering Business management at his home university which has links with Coventry University.

Although his year away means leaving his wife and four year old daughter Beverly at home they all feel it is a good opportunity for him and he is looking forward to them joining him soon.

Gaetan is delighted to be part of this young team.

He is impressed with the coaching here at Crusaders and the closeness and communication within the team. It is his opinion that the future looks good for Crusaders.

Having missed the opening fixture due to a mix up with paper work that delayed his clearance from the French Basketball Federation.

Gaetan made his Crusader debut against Kingston Wildcats were he scored 11 points.

Initially in Coventry for just one year, Gaetan hopes to stay on to go on and study for his Masters in Banking and Finance.

So how long we can expect to see our new number 7 wearing a Crusader Vest remains to be seen.
